(Start!) * Kiku is in her room, still the day of the attack. She seems to be resting, and the TV is on, showing some random anime thing. On the knock she opens her eyes, as if she were still awake and says, just loud enough to hear, "Yes..." * Hinako knocks on the door. "Kiku, are you awake?" * Hinako opens the door. "I was just walking by and thought that I should check up on you. The others told me that you were really weak after the battle." (Is this fairly soon after, or more later like lunchish?) (Lunchish.) * Kiku looks over at Hinako and with a weak smile. "I'm feeling better, really..." then she licks her lips and rests back on the bed. "I can't sleep anymore, though." Well, if you were feeling up to it, I was about to start making lunch. I'll make you a tray if you'd like. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kiku (2d6) and gets 6. (Yay! Empathy check.) (Still in semi-shock from the battle, but is earnestly trying to neither show it or let it bother her duties.) * Kiku licks her lips again and looks over at the bedside clock, "Unnf... maybe I could eat a little." She looks back at Hinako, still under the covers, then half-closes her eyes, as if saddened/ashamed. "I'm sorry about..." You don't need to be sorry. Every battle has a casualty, and it's a good reminder that I'm not invincible either. * Kiku shakes her head slightly. "I... I'm sorry anyway." She lays back on the bed and looks at the ceiling. "I can't help you." I don't expect you to always be able to help when something happens. I've learned that the hard way being in the medical field. You can't always be where you need to be when you need to be there. * Kiku nods a little, seeming to shiver in her bed. Are you cold? You're shaking. * Kiku shakes her head. "It's... not cold. I just..." You're probably hungry. I'll go start lunch. I've yet to meet someone who didn't feel better after eating. * Kiku lets out a weak, short laugh and turns to look at Hinako again, her eyes shihmmering, almost on the verge of tears. "Thanks, Hinako." * Hinako heads back to the door then pauses. "Is there something in particular you'd like? I got a really nice cookbook while we were on R&R." * Kiku looks at her for a second and then looks away again. "I... no. Nothing in particular." Alright then. * Hinako resumes walking out. "Today's special will be chicken enchiladas. Hope you like 'em." * Kiku closes her eyes, causing a tear to streak from her eye. "I do." (As in... NOT Jello) (YAY!) (So, do you plan on delivering the food too? ^^) (Yes... but it takes a few minutes to make food for 30 people and such...) * Kiku takes slow, deep breaths as she lies there, while Hinako cooks her food. At one point she says to herself, "I h.. have to calm..." * Hinako walks by Kiku's room again with several trays stacked on top of each other. "I'll be by again with some food for ya." (... she's carrying stacks of food around the main barracks? ^_~) (Yes, she cooks for a lot of people.) (Wow.) * Kiku nods a little as she walks by, eyes still closed. (Remember, she cooks for everyone who can't quite make it to the mess.) * Hinako comes by again with one more tray, then walks in. "I hope that you can eat it all, I'm used to making a bit more than people can eat." * Kiku scoots up on her bed slightly, holding her blanket to her chest. Her arms are bare... it's probably not a bad guess that she's not wearing much under those covers. "I'll try. I made myself really tired earlier..." * Hinako nods. "If you're ever hungry, let me know. I'll always cook you something if you need it." * Hinako sets the tray down, which appears to have enough food for three people on it. "Do you mind if I join you?" * Kiku blinks at her and shakes her head after a hint of hesitation. "You made the food... so I'll let you stay if you want." She nods at the table. * Hinako takes one of the plates off the tray. "I figured as much, so I brought my lunch along with yours." * Kiku smiles a little, shifts the blanket so it won't fall down, and starts to try to eat. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Hinako (2d6-3) and gets 6. (Yeah, that would be some really good food there.) * Kiku smiles a little and says quietly, "I guess you get a lot of practice cooking." (In case you doubted me of course.) I've had plenty of time to do it too. Being in charge of every patient means that I know what each individual needs to help them recover a little bit faster than if they just ate straight Jello like some nurses would. For example, look at what you've got in front of you now. * Kiku nods, stopping chewing halfway through a bit of enchilada to look at the tray. Cheese and chicken, which both provide a lot of protein. Carbs are provided by the enchilada's tortilla wrap. Rice helps to fill a little more so that they feel that they are really full after eating, which has a psychological effect of feeling better. * Kiku looks at it curiously, then swallows her food and says, "I never really thought about the psychology of food." Well, I thought it would be an interesting thought. *She gets a buzz on her pager.* And with that, I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave you. There seems to have been an accident with one of the mechs weapon systems, and a few of the crewmen were injured. * Kiku says quietly, "I guess that's weird--oh?" * Hinako then takes her enchilada, almost swallows it whole, and starts running out the door with her medbag. * Kiku looks up at Hinako and waves. "Bye, Hinako, and thanks..." (Dramatic exit GET!)
