Along with the majior and his aide, of course. * Kiku is summoned! She's still carrying her damaged Haguro plush. Maybe she thinks it will make it feel better if she pays lots of attention to it. Same normal JSDF uniform, you know the drill. She sees Kei when she walks in the door and... 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kiku (2d6) and gets 6. (Empathy by -1, if she's hittable.) * Nova stands quietly at attention, as usual. "Second, I would like Kei and Kiku to take some time to probe th4e Slythe prisoners. We must learn their intentions and tactics if we asre to have a chance." (Wow, are military sure sucks) (our) (Yeah, really. Can't the bombard someone without our help? ^_~) ...If they are in easy bombardment range... why haven't they... or we, shot the other side yet? "The last attack on oru base destroyed most of our artillery. Replacement guns and personell haven;t arrived yet. but we don;t know what they have. "Aside from which, they seem to have a capacity to intercept artillery shells that we lack." Is Kiku's mecha ready yet? "yes. We can use it in the attack. Sergeant Katsu did a great job with it." * Kiku smiles a little and looks up to say something... but then closes her mouth instead of speaking. "it can fly now, so you can attampt a completely arieal assault if you choose. But their anti=mecha capabilities have been improving,. Watch yourselves." 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kiku (2d6-1) and gets 7. * Keika nods slightly, "Do we know by how much, or have any idea what they've brought with them... or should we be asking these things while we're on our way?" "They've been operating onder cover of night and thermal obscuring devices. We don't entitirely know what we're walking into" Kei pints at Kiku and puts he r fingers across her lips. * Karasu looks at Nova. * Kiku looks up at Kei and her look seems to become an odd mix of scared and defiant... Nova... go find out what they've got. Kei simles engim,atically and repeats the gesture as disreetly as she can. * Kiku squeezes the plushie and bites her lip, and some of the defiance fades. * Karasu looks at Kei now. * Nova eyes Keika and replys, "Very well." If you don't need Kiku right this moment, I'd like to take her with, we'll probibly need everything we've got, and Major? Where is Hinako? "She called in isck. She may recover in time for the main assualt." (Aka when her player comes back). "Actually," kei says, "I do need Kiku for a moment. In private." * Nova looks at the Major and says, "If that is all?" If you wish. "That is all." * Nova salutes and turns around, then exits the room to head towards the hanger. * Karasu looks at Kiku for a moment and then back at Kei. * Kiku is still looking at Kei and holding the plush. She glances over at Keika/Karasu for a second then back to Kei... and her eyes widen, before she takes a step back. I will be waiting in the hanger... unless Nova gets into trouble, in which case I will be waiting in the fight... do try to finish before it's over. * Kiku says, faintly, "I'll try..." * Keika turns and walks out in the same direction that Nova went. * Kiku nods slowly. * Kiku shivers and closes her eyes, sucks in a breath and opens them, then says, in a sorta-cheery voice, "I'll see you soon, Kei." She even smiles a little. Nova, are you ready for your reconmission? (sure) The coordinates to the new Slythe base have already been fed into your nav computer. keika, they're in yours too. * Kiku walks her way to join Keika! La la la. She gets much less tense once she's left Kei behind, and lets up on the deathgrip. Kiku, you check out your new mecha. it;s nice and shiny, and looks well-protected. katsu did a fabulous job. * Nova suits up and powes up the Mirage. Katsu climbs down from the back, where he has just finished fueling your flight engines. "Good to see you back in action. Kiku-chan. Please be careful for me." * Nova takes the Mirage out of the hanger and does systems check. Everything is green. * Kiku looks PLEASED and looks at Katsu with a smile. "It's good to be in action! And I'll be more careful from now on." 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kiku (2d6) and gets 4. (Empathy on Katsu! Ha ha. Oh dear.) * Keika is, as she said she would be, waiting in the hanger, but not in her mech, and without Karasu on her shoulder. Katsu is extaoruidnarily happy to hear that. He walks over and discreetly plants a kiss on your cheek. * Karasu 's flying around inside the hanger. * Nova activates her clocking systems and slowly gets up altitude and flight speed. Are all your detection systems up? * Kiku giggles. * Kiku looks at Katsu for a second after the kiss, then suddenly looks away at the flying Karasu. It also has a device that resmbles a huge radar dish - presumable an improved sensor system, but perhaps a communications system." * Keika gets up and climbs into her mech, "is it moving?" No, it wasn;lt moving. * Kiku 's look at Katsu shifts slowly, for a second, then she says, "I... I think I better go." * Nova answers, "Negative." ...Which direction is is pointed in? It's circling the Slythe base slowly, as if scanning the entire facility. Nova, make another Invisibilith roll. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Nova (2d6-4) and gets 4. (yes) Nothing happens. * Kiku suddenly says, "Um... er... that might be a detector thingy, girls." She gives Katsu a weak smile and begins to climb into her mech. Then it's the first thing we take out. katusu syas "Tell Nova they might be able to detect a cloacked mecha! Be careful!" (How they would have time to build all this stuff so close to the base without us launching a premptive strike is beyond me, but anywhoo..) * Keika speaks into the comm, "Kiku, find out how fast you can fly now. Nova, how far away is it exactly?" (All their anti-detection equipment. And they layed down an SCV. *cough*) (Instant Base in a Box!) (Just add water!) * Nova responds, "Sending cordinates now." and does just that. keika and kiku., as soon as you are halfway to the base the Slythe launch their flying mecha. Nova, you obviously notice this. (Hoe? When did we launch?!) * Nova goes to take out the dishy-thingie. help me count now. YThere are eight in the enemy squadron. * Kiku flies! Zoom! She's... well, how good _IS_ 200 KPH compared to you crazies? * Keika gets there six times as fast! Nova, you detect weapons locked on you! * Nova engages the dishy-thingie, as I mentioned. Make a defense roll. * Kiku zooms very slowly. "This is so neat! I'll get there soon!" I'll be sure to save you some. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Nova (2d6-2) and gets 5. (yes) Five anti-aircraft missiles fly past you, go up about a thousand more feet, and then turn back towards you. You can target the dish now. * Nova uses her jamming systems to block their homing signal, take them over, and redirect them at the dishy-thingie. Make an attack roll to pull it off. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Nova (2d6-2) and gets 10, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "You always hurt the ones you love. I love you very much." (... Wah!) (...Ow) Not only do you fail to redirect the missibles, but they hit you! (*smacks Dicey* I hate you! I hate you I hate you I hate you.... call me. ;_;) (poop) Take 15 damage fro each missile. Amror defens against each separately, and your cloak has been knocked out. (as you say) Suddenly you see ten more missibes headed your way -- bigger, faster missiles. (When do the K's arrive?) Keika, the enemy squardon is upon you. (Three defenses? @_@) * Keika dodges around them and makes it look easy, "And this hasn't changed either." (Two levels of extra mecha defences ^___^) Nova, the missiles are almost upon you. What will you do? (Iiiiimpressive.) Kiku, you;re one turn away from the action. (But if they hit, she's screwed) (Can I use my new long range attack to, er, attack?) Yes. * Nova attempts to use her ECM suite to take over the missiles, hpefully being successful this time, and redirect them back to their launchers. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Nova (2d6-2) and gets 8. make an attack roll. (made!) * Nova shuts power from her failed cloaking system into her shield, attempts to doges the missles, and fires her own return volley, targetting the dishy-thingie as well as for of the incoming missiles, attempting to dodge what's left over. The dish is star\tionary and doesn;t get a defense roll. It explodes. Everyone within 300 meters make a defenese roll. (... Are we all within 300 meters?) You got tik! (... Also, wow, that's one hell of a load bearing sattelite dish.) 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keika (2d6-5) and gets 1. Nova, you're leaking fuel. You'd better get back to the base. * Hinako does a hard about. "Seems I came just a bit too late." * Keika goes up, and then around, "Hinako, take Nova back, we'll mop up." * Nova says, "I do not need an escort." * Nova continues to fight. (Fly?) (The base is gone) * Hinako flies over to Nova's mech. "Are you sure you'll make it?" (Oh, all the mecha are poffed too?) (Good point.) (I don't know, that's why Keika wants to hang around a bit longer and find out) Yes. they didn;t get to make defense rolls because the blast triggered their own self-destrudct mechanisms. * Nova says, "I am fine. Returning to base." and falls back to base. * Kiku looks at Nova and says, "She... doesn't look fine." * Keika sighs, "Hinako? ...Just follow her." * Hinako hovers a bit behind Nova just in case. * Nova pulls away and goes back to base. * Kiku flies back to the base too, since the mini-base is blown up good. * Keika flys around the site, just to make sure there isn't anything left. Only radioactive rubble. Novam you arrive at the bae but yourmecha loses power and colaspes in the hangar. The maintanenvce crew rushes over and pulls you out. ... Just a bit paranoid arn't they. Katsu radfios for a medic and another ted\chnician scans the mecha with a geiger counter. * Hinako lands relatively unscathed, and rushes over to Nova's mecha. He turns to katus and shakes his head. The rest of you hear katsu's voice in yoru radios. "Girls, you;d better get yourselves deconatimanted when you get back. Nova's mecha absoirbed a lot of radiation, and I;'ll wager yours did too." Let's head back before Hirameku starts to glow in the dark. Nove, you take 10 health from radiation poisoning. * Kiku has been creeping back towards the base while flying. "Um... wow. Radiation." She whispers, "Scary." You will take 1 more HP every two hours until treated and fully deconatiminated. * Nova comes out of the Mecha, hears the radiation comments, and starts towards the decontamination area. You stumble on the way there, obviously weakened, but make it. Hey, let's get Nova up to the decontamination unit! We don't have any time to spare. *Turning to Katsu.* When the others get back, have them come up to decon ASAP. Just another of the million things that can go wrong. * Kiku mutters, "Stupid things that go wrong." * Kiku eventually makes it back to the base, she hopes. Nova, you know that you really shouldn't be pushing it right now. * Keika gives Kiku directions if she seems to get lost. Katsu syas "yes, ma"am. You get deconataminated yourself. I'll make sure anyone who's come into contact with any of your mecha is decontaiminated as well." (Well, it's not lost. It's just going only 200 KPH. ^_^;) * Nova replys, "It doesn't matter." (I don't think I get to leave decon for a long, long time.) (Ha ha. Owned.) * Keika gets back to the base and lands next to the Mirage. It does to your team. You are a valuable asset to us, and if we lost you, at least I would miss you. And I'm sure that the other two would be rather devastated too. * Nova says nothing further. (Oh yes, terribly, I'd have to send Kiku in to test the waters instead.) (;____;) (Kiku becomes empathy fodder) :P * Kiku makes it back sometime! (Are we not supposed to leave our mecha?) (No, Keika is empathy fodder.) (Kiku's on the other end of the canon) You'll have to leave your mecha to get deconatimnaited. A special team led by katsu will deconatimanate your mecha. But it;'ll be several days before you can use them again. (Can't keep you two straight. Too many "K"s) >_< (Yes) (So now the decon starts.) * Kiku nervously leaves her mecha, clutching Haguro close, and lets herself get guided to decontamination land. Katsu helps Kiku out of her mecha. "Don;t worry about me. I've absorbed enough radiation that I;ll have to go through decon myself." "So helping you isnlt going to hrut me any more." * Kiku looks at Katsu funny. "That's still not a good thing!" * Keika climbs out and Karasu eyes Katsu, "You arn't being reassuring, now tell her which way to go." (But what about the kids that you might have been able to have? >_>;; ) (Ha!) he hasn;t absorbed enough radiation to strlize him -- at least that;s what the doctors tell him later. (Bah.) Neither has Kiku, for that matter. * Kiku looks over at Keika and then over at her mecha, which she shys away from. "I.. better go." * Kiku starts to take uncertain steps away. You're all laid up for about three days as you are treated for radiation poisoning, but the technology has advanced sufficiently that radiation can be completely purged without cuaisng any further damage to the body. (...
